Hello,

After the School of Computing and Information Technology of the
University of Wolverhampton was forced to censor the
"unix/net/hack page" by persons currently unknown to me
(probably somebody like JANET-CERT), I have finally sorted out a
new location for the page.

The unix/net/hack page is now available from:

	http://www.unix.geek.org.uk/~arny/

A U.S. mirror of the page is also available from:

	http://www.unix.geek.net/~arny/

Please update your links and hotlists, the remains of the
censored page at www.scit.wlv.ac.uk will not be maintained and
may even be completely removed. Hopefully this new URL should
now be reliable since if one web server 'goes down', I can soon
change the DNS to point to another one.

The unix/net/hack page collects together quality files and
documents particularly related to unix network security, as well
as general unix and TCP/IP documents that will be of use to
people interested in unix and TCP/IP whether they have a
particular interest in unix network security or not. The page
aims to provide everything needed for a person to learn unix
network security.

The page includes:

o Quality papers on unix network security.

o The GNU libc info pages in html (a complete reference to unix
     C programming).

o Local copies of useful unix security programs (e.g. COPS, crack,
     SATAN, ypx, etc).

o A explanatory index to RFCs

o BSD documents on unix network programming (and other things
     such as sendmail & named).

o Local copies of the [8lgm] security advisories (used with kind
     permission).

o Programs written by myself, such as ypghost.

o Links to other quality sites, including similar security pages,
CERT advisories, C courses and unix man pages in html.

*Many* thanks to the people that have helped me relocate the
page. At the moment I am unable to find paid work so therefore I
certainly can't afford to pay for Internet services at normal
U. K. commercial rates. Without these people (most of whom
didn't even know me) volunteering their help I certainly would
now be a lot more pessimistic about the future of our Internet.

(On the other hand the mentality of the people in power who
banned my page is both unbelievable and worrying.)

Cheers,

Arny - arny@geek.org.uk
