University of Manitoba Computer Services Reminder Regarding Computer Abuse When you acquired your userid you read and agreed to a declaration concerning misuse of your userid. Misuse includes: - Reading, copying, changing other people's computer files without their consent. - Engaging in pranks using the computer. - Attempting to find out other people's passwords or to use their computer userids or accounts. - Using electronic mail to annoy other users. Note that sending messages to people you don't know may be annoying to them. - Using your account, or allowing others to use it, for purposes unauthorized (eg. academic accounts are authorized for YOUR U of M academic work only). The declaration also stated that misuse of the computer could lead to disciplinary or legal action by the Universi- ty. Misuse WILL result in the indefinite suspension of your userid.
