PLATFORM: Windows: RealPlayer 10.5 (6.0.12.1040-1056) RealPlayer 10 RealOne Player v2 (6.0.11.853 - 872) RealOne Player v2 (6.0.11.818 - 840) RealOne Player v1 RealPlayer 8 RealPlayer Enterprise Mac: RealPlayer 10 (10.0.0.305 - 325) RealOne Player Red Hat Desktop and Enterprise Linux AS, ES, Ws (v. 3 & v. 4): RealPlayer 10 Other Linux Platforms: RealPlayer 10 Helix Player DAMAGE: The RealPlayer Synchronized Multimedia Integration Language (SMIL) file processor is vulnerable to a buffer overflow. Another buffer overflow was found in the way RealPlayer decodes WAV sound files. Updated March 1, 2005 RealNetworks, Inc. has addressed recently discovered security vulnerabilities that offered the potential for an attacker to run arbitrary or malicious code on a customer's machine. RealNetworks has received no reports of machines compromised as a result of the now-remedied vulnerabilities. RealNetworks takes all security vulnerabilities very seriously.
